🛒 Ingredients
-
1 lb elbow macaroni
-
2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp flour
-
2 cups whole milk
-
1 cup heavy cream
-
2½ cups shredded sharp cheddar
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp paprika
-
Salt & pepper to taste
🔥 Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
Boil the macaroni in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Make the Cheese Sauce
Place a large cast iron skillet over a hot Pyro Tower fire (or prep inside and transfer to the tower).
Melt butter, then whisk in flour to form a roux.
Slowly add milk and cream, stirring until thickened.
Add seasonings, then stir in cheese a handful at a time until smooth and melty.
3. Combine & Bake
Stir in the cooked pasta and mix well.
Push the skillet toward the back of the Pyro Tower where heat is more indirect.
Let it cook uncovered for 10–15 minutes, rotating as needed until bubbly and golden on top.
✨ Pro Tip
Want even more flavor? Add cooked bacon bits, jalapeños, or a crushed cracker topping during the last few minutes of cooking.
